With the country of Turkey now being officially classified as an emerging market by the International Monetary Fund, Merrill Lynch, and the World Bank, the newly industrialized nation has seen unprecedented economic growth. While many global economies have struggled due to the international financial recession of the 2000s, Turkey has seen consistent economic expansion and growth of its GDP. From 2002 to 2011 the country’s budget deficit decreased from 10 percent to less than 3 percent, and the country’s economy grew by 9.2% in 2010 and 8.5% in 2011. This means that Turkey possesses the fastest growing economy in Europe and one of the fastest growing in the world. Much of this growth amidst widespread economic downturn has been due to the Turkish government’s various successful economic stimulus measures such as temporary tax cuts on automobiles, housing, and home appliances.

With this rapid growth of the economy comes investment in construction, not just in new buildings, but also in more expensive, higher quality architecture. This makes sense especially in a country with as rich of an architectural tradition as Turkey, a history rooted in neoclassicism and influenced by Seljuk and Ottoman architecture.

Evrenol Architects is a leading architecture, interior design and urban planning company based in Istanbul. With an emphasis on the cultural heritage of Turkish society and the goal of reinterpreting these values by integrating them into its designs, Evrenol is the perfect company to profit from Turkey’s economic expansion while paying homage to the country’s architectural history. Turkey’s architecture is not the only aspect of Turkish culture that the firm honors, but the company also concerns itself with other disciplines, like sociology, psychology, the arts and sciences, and technology. Consisting of experienced yet young members, the group is devoted to architecture and contemporary urban design which should be livable, cultivated, democratic, and should have a high quality public realm.

Evrenol Architects has also founded a construction administration branch, known as Evrenol DETAIL, which oversees the practical side of construction with unmatched service quality and credibility which spans over 35 years. The Evrenol DETAIL team specializes in multidisciplinary project coordination, shop drawings, design development and tender documents and drawings.

The firm was founded by master architects Mehpare and Alp Malik Evrenol in 1978, and at present, Mehpare is the master design architect and CEO of Evrenol Architects. The company has a track record of over 4,500,000 m² of constructed projects. In the last five years alone, the company has been responsible for several multi-million dollar and billion dollar projects. Many of these were hotel construction projects valued in the billions, including the ongoing Jabal Omar Development Project - Westin & Sheraton Hotels project and the Atakoy Seapearl, a project with a construction cost of $1 billion and valued at over $2.5 billion.

All evidence points to Evrenol Architects continuing to thrive as the Turkish economy flourishes. With the countless years of experience to rely on, a commitment to excellence, and a deep understanding of their cultural heritage, the company will continue to set the standard for architectural accomplishment.
